Fundraisers

Beachburg Public School students participate in many fundraisers that support our programs, trips, and resources for students. Classroom teachers also initiate fundraisers to support charities that help the less fortunate.

Special Meal Days

Each Friday, Special Meal Days are organized, thanks to School Council Member, Michelle Allmand and helpers.  All meals are compliant with PPM 150, the School Food and Beverage Policy.  Pizza Days and Kaiser/Wrap Days are regular offerings with the occasional Pasta Day.  Orders are taken on a month-by-month basis.

Popcorn Days

BPS holds a couple of Popcorn Days throughout the year, thanks to School Council member Kim Theriault and friends.  Orders are taken ahead of time and popcorn is served at the first Nutrition Break at noon.  A small bag of popcorn costs $1.00 and a large bag sells for $2.00.

Harvest Supper

Our Harvest Supper is an amazing community gathering.  The meal consists of Sliced Ham, Scalloped Potatoes, Baked Beans, a Variety of Salads, Cheese, Pickles, Buns, and Dessert.  This event is held before Thanksgiving and often aligns with our Meet the Teacher night.  Families help make this event a success by supplying all the trimmings.

Craft Fair

For the first time in many years, BPS School Council hosted a Christmas Craft Sale at the Beachburg Hall.  Over 35 vendors came out to make this event a smashing success.  Thanks to School Council member Sharon Mustard for organizing this spectacular fundraiser.

Spaghetti Supper and Scholastic Book Fair

Our Spaghetti Supper is typically held in the Month of February.  It is another event enjoyed by BPS families, Senior Citizens, and other Community Members.  At this time, Marilyn Labow, our librarian, hosts the Scholastic Book Fair in the library.  This helps stock our library with new titles!

Movie Nights

On Movie Nights, BPS gym is transformed into a movie theatre!  The lights are dimmed and the movie begins!  Enjoy popcorn, drinks, and treats from the Snack Bar!

Poinsettia Sales

This year, we participated in our first ever Poinsettia Sales!  It was a blooming success thanks to School Council organizer, Mary Ann Nagel.

Little Caesar Pizza Kits

Our popular fundraiser was held in April this year.  Thanks to Colleen Nagel for organizing this successful money-maker.

Moncion Receipt Program

Students can bring in grocery receipts for over $25 stamped by cashiers at Moncion's grocery stores, Pembroke east and west locations. The receipts are redeemed for grocery items for special events and to support our lunch program. Thank you Moncion!

The Gift of Giving

Terry Fox

Our students participate each September in the annual Terry Fox Run.  In addition to the physical benefits, students raise money to support the Terry Fox Foundation for cancer research.

Child Poverty Action Network (CPAN)

At BPS, we collect new and gently used snowsuits, footwear, and other outerwear items in support of the Renfrew County Child Poverty Action Network (CPAN).  This collection takes place in the fall and early winter months.  Articles of clothing may be dropped off at the office.

Jump Rope for Heart

BPS combines physical activity with Heart and Stroke awareness in an effort to raise money for the Heart and Stroke Foundation.  Our next Jump Rope for Heart event will be held this spring.

Free the Children

This year the Grade 7 and 8 students, with the encouragement of Taylor Robinson, joined Free the Children, an international charity and education partner.  By completing one local act of charity and one global act, students earned tickets to We Day at the Canadian Tire Centre in April.  They also invited the Grade 5 and 6 class to join them.  BPS students raised money for the Tsunami victims in the Philippians, donated food items to the local food bank, and raised money for the Free the Children organization.  Excitedly, the students have more fundraisers planned!
