October 4, 2019 – The Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) is planning to begin a full service withdrawal on Monday, October 7th, 2019. This means that all custodial, facility, clerical and information technology employees will be picketing.
No teachers or any in-class support staff including Early Childhood Educators (ECEs) and Educational Assistants (EAs) are part of this CUPE action within our District.
Central bargaining negotiations are set to continue...

The Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) provided the Ontario government with the required five-day notice that it will begin a full services withdraw beginning Monday, October 7th, 2019. This walk-out will include District information technology, clerical, facilities and custodial staff. No teachers or in-class support staff are included.

RCDSB Board Chair Susan Humphries recently issued a follow-up letter to the Minister of Education.  In her letter, Chair Humphries outlined how, despite a re-organization of central staff positions and the application of an attrition factor, the District is going to experience a reduction in student course offerings across a range of subjects.
She also noted that as the District moves toward a class size of 28, the District will face increasingly acute pressures....

The Director of Education has directed that all District facilities are to be closed to the public, staff and students on Wednesday, February 13, 2019.
This will impact sites with on-site childcare services and those hosting community use permit events. There will be no extra-curricular after school programs and continuing education programming. Staff are asked to stay home.
There will be no school bus service and schools will not be open to students.
